Smart But Stressed? You Are Not Alone

Join our safe online community of college students supporting each other through stress and anxiety.

Meet study buddies, stay accountable, and make consistent progress together.

Together, We Can Be Unstoppable

You’re smart. You have goals. But right now, everything feels like too much.

The stress is piling up. The anxiety won’t quit. You’re overthinking at 2am, falling behind on things that matter, and somehow still feeling totally alone… even when you’re surrounded by people.

Inside this community, you’ll find students who understand and can relate.

Before joining:

  • Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stressed, paralyzed
  • Avoiding the very things you’ve been promising yourself to do
  • Escaping through doom scrolling and distractions
  • Struggling with overthinking and perfectionism
  • Worrying about expectations
  • Feeling like your potential is being wasted
  • Exhaustion, difficulty sleeping, stomach pain

After joining:

  • Feeling grateful, courageous, hopeful
  • Connecting with students who actually understand
  • More consistent and accountable (without the pressure)
  • Putting some points on the scoreboard, instead of chasing perfection
  • Completing things that you were afraid to do
  • Being able to help others
  • Focusing on one step at a time, rather than the destination

I was literally crying at my desk in the library when I finished… I cried because it felt like I’m finally unstoppable now. There’s hope.

Whether you’re here to find study buddies, get stuff done, or finally feel less alone — we’ve got your back.

I just participated in my first study buddy session. As soon as it started, it was like all my troubles had to go to the back of my mind… I could just focus on this moment. It feels liberating to be able to do things and be seen, to know you’re not alone in your walk, not judged. I got something done, and whatever I was scared about, I was able to face it. Now I have momentum and courage to face it again.

How Is This Different?

Most places you turn for support leave you feeling more overwhelmed or distracted.

📱

Unlike Discord/Reddit

Hosted by a psychologist who specializes in college student mental health. Built for real, lasting connections — not noise.

🩺

Unlike Therapy

Available 24/7, not just one hour a week. Peer support that’s actually affordable.

📸

Unlike Social Media

No ads, no toxic comparison, no algorithm. Just real students, real experiences, real support.

The difference? 24/7 peer support, professionally guided — built specifically for you.

No endless scrolling. No toxic comments. No figuring it out alone.

Companionship was the last key… the final missing piece. I tried calling family and friends but everyone’s schedule is different and they won’t always be there when I need them. There’s something about when someone else is there and they see you. It’s like getting pushed into the pool.

Dr. Parke

A Note From The Founder

Hi, I’m Dr. Parke — a psychologist who has been working with students since 2005.

Over and over in therapy and on my YouTube channel, I kept hearing the same word: isolated.

I was connecting with so many students going through similar things — but none of them knew each other. Each of them felt completely alone.

That’s why I started this community.

A place to support each other, celebrate progress (not perfection), and find people who actually have your back.

Your experience is unique to you. But knowing there are people there for you — that changes everything.

I hope this becomes the space where you laugh, connect, and build confidence. The kind of support I wish everyone had.

If you’ve ever wanted friends who understand and a safe place to just be yourself — I’d love to welcome you in.

You Might Be Wondering…

How much does it cost to join?

Membership is $10/month. Start with a free 2-week trial, and cancel anytime.

What if I still can’t afford it?

Reach out at hello@throughthewaters.org — we offer a pay-what-you-can option. No judgment, no minimums.

Who is this for?

The community is designed for college/university students (18–24 years old) who are wanting peer support for stress and anxiety. If you’re a little older or a little younger but taking university classes, you’re welcome to join us. You can join from any country.

What platform hosts the community?

We’re currently using a platform called Mighty Networks. It’s savvy tech, and you can access the community through an app on your phone or computer browser. Create an account once, and simply stay signed in (it won’t ask you to sign in a bunch of times). The platform allows us to create posts, chats, member profiles, challenges, and more.

How much do I have to participate in the community?

It’s totally up to you. We think you’ll have more fun and get more out of it if you complete your profile and contribute to the discussions (posts, comments, polls, chats, etc.), but you can also listen as much as you want to before contributing. We sometimes have livestreams, but camera/mic is optional.

Do I have to share personal details?

No — you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable. When you join, you can create your account with your first and last name or just use some initials. We do think you’ll get out of the community what you put into it, but there are no requirements for sharing personal details or participating.

How is this different from therapy?

Therapy is 1:1 with a professional, usually once a week, and then you’re left to figure things out on your own the rest of the week. Although this community is overseen by a psychologist, this is not therapy — it’s a peer community that’s available 24/7, focused on connection and mutual encouragement. You are welcome in the community, regardless of whether or not you’ve accessed therapy or other forms of mental health treatment.

Is this a safe and inclusive space?

Yes — the community is moderated and is designed to be judgement-free, supportive, and confidential. We welcome anyone to join regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, neurodiversity, or medical/physical/emotional condition. The only people not welcome are those who make our community unsafe for other people — for example, bullying, harassment, or hate speech. We have moderators who will protect our community from these behaviors.

How is the community moderated?

We’re currently building a team of moderators who are parents and/or people with mental health training. Our goal is to keep the community focused, trending in a positive direction, and moving forward together. As the community grows, we would love to give student members the opportunity to become moderators as well. While we welcome conversations about difficult topics like self-harm, disordered eating, substance abuse, etc., we aim to keep those discussions focused on recovery rather than glorifying any self-destructive behaviors. We aim to help you spiral upward together rather than spiraling down alone.

Is this community for life-threatening emergencies?

No. We ask that members not use the community for life-threatening emergencies but instead contact crisis resources in their local region instead for immediate crisis support.

I have another question about the community. How can I get in touch with a human?

Feel free to reach out to us at hello@throughthewaters.org and we’ll be happy to respond to your question.

Join Today And Feel Less Alone

You don’t have to figure this out by yourself anymore.

Inside our community, you’ll find friends who understand, support that’s always there, and a safe place to grow.

This is your moment to find your people.
