Our Story

We believe that stress or anxiety should not be a main character in any student’s story.

College should be a time of hope, discovery, and growth.

Our team is on a mission is to create mental health solutions that meet college students where they’re at–online.

Why do we do what we do? We believe that light dispels darkness, wounds can be healed, pain can shape purpose, and love conquers all.

Whether you’re here to support your own mental health or to support someone else… welcome.

Our Story

We were in a youth mental health epidemic before the pandemic. Worldwide, it’s gotten worse in the years since.

“There is growing concern about the state of mental health among young people around the world.

That concern is clearly justified.”

– UNICEF Changing Childhood Project (2021)

It’s unacceptable to us that worldwide:

1 out of 4 young people are experiencing depression
1 out of 5 young people are experiencing anxiety
More than 20% of young people have considered suicide

It’s unacceptable to us that worldwide…

…and the barriers to mental health care are many, including:

The Mental Health System

  • Waiting lists that last months or years
  • Health insurance nightmares that exacerbate emotional pain and frustration
  • A broken system that makes things worse rather than better

Poor Quality of Services

  • A lack of youth-friendly providers with specialized training
  • A disconnect between clinical research and what actually happens in therapy
  • Too little focus on prevention and whole-person health

Student Discomfort

  • Students may feel uncomfortable or awkward talking to someone
  • Social anxiety can interfere with participating in appointments
  • Students above 18 may be required to schedule appointments or sign paperwork, without knowing how to do so
